U-Prevent is based on the CVRM guideline as published by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC): https://www.escardio.org/Guidelines/Clinical-Practice-Guidelines/CVD-Prevention-Guidelines. These guidelines repeatedly refer to U-Prevent as a device for calculating the cardiovascular risk profile. It is therefore important that the U-Prevent risk calculators remain up to date with these guidelines. Some guideline updates have not yet been incorporated into U-Prevent. The aim of the Guidelines update 2024 project is to bring U-Prevent up to date with the current ESC CVRM guidelines. U-Prevent is an MDD CE-marked medical device in the process towards MDR (Medical Device Regulation) certification. Like any other MDD CE marked medical device U-Prevent is required to adhere to the MDR. Changes to U-Prevent are made according to the ORTEC Quality Management System to ensure compliance with the MDR. For more information about this update project please read the articles below.
